You may have heard about the new Cindy Crawford Style home line that is sold exclusively at JCPenney. Well, this is kind of a fun tidbit! Cindy Crawford will be chatting on HGTV’s Design Happens blog on Thursday, October 29th from 1 to 3pm EST! She will be blogging live to answer your design and decorating questions. Fans and designers wishing to ask Cindy a design or decorating question can head to the blog now and submit their question to Cindy prior to the event.

Halloween Vignettes

This morning I was looking on the HGTV website for kitchen counter ideas. Of course, I was instantly distracted by their Halloween photo contest. I love Halloween and just had to enter some of my favorite Halloween photos. If you are part of the HGTV community, I would love to have you rate them and leave comments there.

HGTV Design Star

Design Star is one of many favorite shows in our house (even the husband enjoys it). This season, while not totally my favorite season, has not disappointed. I love the judges this time around, Vern and Genevieve have been favorites of mine since they were on Trading Spaces. Of course Candace always pulls together amazing spaces.

I really hadn’t found a favorite contestant this season. However, last night when it was down to the final three I had picked who I thought should be in the final two, including who I hoped would win. If you watch and haven’t seen it yet, don’t click the “read more”, as spoilers are ahead.

Seriously? Lonni got sent home? Her room was by far the best room of the night. Yes, the headboard didn’t get hung up, but she came up with a solution that still looked great. The wallpaper (grass cloth is one of my personal favorites), was warm and inviting, and making a statement wall with printing on it was fabulous. Hers was by far the nicest room to look at on screen, and she did a great job hosting.

The other two rooms? I wasn’t impressed with either of them. The boat “mobile” was fun and looked good, but over all I thought Dan’s room looked a bit busy and cluttered, at least on TV (maybe in person it looked nicer?). I did like how he made the painting he did look more like a window.

Then there is Antonio. Some elements were cool, the map, clocks, and work stations all were awesome. Hated what he did to the fireplace! I think that if he had left it the natural rock, it would have been an amazing contrast to all the hard metal and other modern elements.

Yeah, so in my mind I think that they kind of want Antonio to win just because he is different. His hosting style is very different, and his personality too. Out of the two I think Dan would do a better job designing, but I think that out of the final three, it should have been Lonni that won.
