We have a gas fireplace in our home. Sadly, the previous owners put in the wrong kind for the type of venting our house has, so we can’t actually use our fireplace. Or we could, but we would risk death by CO2 poisoning, according to our home inspector.
We are saving to buy the proper kind, and hope to redo the surround too. So, of course we like to see what other people’s fireplaces look like! These inspiration shots come from our Home as Art group. While our fireplace is pretty, we would like to change it to suit our tastes someday. Here are some fireplaces that I fancy. First, I love the built in bookshelves of the first image. The fireplace, while plain, is also quiet nice. Simple is good.
While the next photo’s fireplace is just a mantel, I like the style of the mantel very much. It’s embellished, but because it’s all white, it doesn’t look overdone in any way.
This next one looks posh. I love the marble, both the green and the cream colored around the fireplace. The mantel is kind of neat too, though I would want it to be thicker on the top for setting things on. Very pretty overall though.
And while this wouldn’t really suit us or our home, I do find it amazing!
