This is a non-update of sorts. The guest room? Not really inspired to make it happen. I have tried to get down there and do something. I put on bedding, I hung a huge map on the wall, I tried to clear out things that don’t belong in the room. The problem? Not enough room in that room!
The main problem of the laundry room is that it is large enough to be a bedroom, though not really. The mattress takes up far too much space (it would work well for a twin, but not a queen), and is pushed up against the wall. Not ideal for guests, who wants to climb over the other person in the middle of the night for a potty run? Also, guests. We don’t have them. Our family all live within an hour at most. Those few family members who don’t live in state (all two of them), wouldn’t be staying in our home anyway.
So, my ideal plan would be to remove the mattress and get the room back into a craft/art area. It was perfect as that because when we weren’t doing projects, the tables were great for folding clothes on. The only big issue is how to get rid of the mattress?! It’s not nice enough to donate, and they don’t do that now anyway with new health regulations. It doesn’t fit in the trash bin, and our garbage men don’t collect big things like that. Somehow I am going to have to get it to the dump.
I think I will go play in the leaves instead.

I was wondering if you had considered FreeCycle for the mattress. Granted, it might not be great, but if somebody is new to the area, it might be just what they need. Plus that way you can get somebody else to take it off your hands!
Anyway, I really like your blog, I just found it!
