The cold weather always makes me want to bake. Baking takes place in the kitchen (of course), which leads me to dream about kitchen countertops. Specifically smooth, easy to clean countertops where I could actually roll out cookie dough without being scared of dirt or worried about lines from the tile. If we had a larger budget, we would get Zodiaq to replace our tiles because we love the look and feel of stone.
mySurface
So, when I got some information about a great iPhone/iPod Touch application that helps you choose Zodiaq and Corian countertops, I knew I had to share it with you! After all, I am sure that I am not the only one who dreams of replacing her countertops!
The application is called mySurface and comes from DuPont. What sounds great about it is that you get to see all the Corian and Zodiaq Palettes on your iPhone or iPod Touch. This would be so much fun to have for the times when you don’t want to go all the way to the store to check out samples! I imagine it would also come in handy when you are at the local hardware store looking for countertops, since we have found that there isn’t always help nearby, and they don’t always have all the options out on display.
I don’t have my dream gadget yet (the iPod touch is on the wishlist), so I didn’t get a chance to try the app for myself, but the features it comes with sure sound awesome! You can bet if I do get an iPod Touch in my Halloween pumpkin or Christmas stocking, this will be one of the first apps I download! Now, if it would only pay for the countertop as well, it would be the perfect iPhone app!

- The mySurface app will allow users to search for Corian® and Zodiaq® colors by hue, providing a color swatch that fills the screen along with information on how to order a sample.
- mySurface is making it fun and easy for consumers to match countertop colors with their kitchen designs, helping homeowners narrow down their sample choices with this all-in-one tool.
- Architects and designers can now visualize surface color and texture while on the job, in any location, for any design application.
- DuPont will provide updates and enhanced features to the app on a regular basis to keep the tool at the forefront of technology. At this time, mySurface is available in the United States only.
