Falling into fall.

As the weather starts to cool, my thoughts always seem to turn indoors. First and foremost, clearing out clutter. Secondly, all those indoor projects that got ignored in favor of playing in the garden.

I really like the idea that MinHus had, her 365 Days of Decluttering. She has committed to clearing out an item a day for the next year. While I adore the idea, I tend to work in spurts, but I am trying to at least put something aside each day that can go out of the house. I have been a clutter clearing Queen lately though, with many trips to the local thrift shop to donate the goods.

And, just for fun, here are the list of things on our DIY To Do List. I am hopeful that we can get them done over the next months while we are stuck inside, and of course, there are some that need to happen before we lose all warmth.

• Master bathroom makeover. We need to repair or replace the shower surround, and we would like to update the counter top and vanity.
• Molding around our French door.
• Guest room creation. Part of the way there, but still so much to do. How to best combine a guest room and a laundry room? That is the challenge.
• Craft space in my office. The laundry used to house the craft space until we got our new mattress and put the old one into the laundry (now we have a guest room). I need to figure out how to incorporate the craft stuff into my office, which I share with our bird. It’s harder than it sounds.
• Work out area and air hockey area. Both are in our unfinished basement, and both need some TLC to function at the best. First up, clearing out the clutter so the air hockey table can even be used! Somehow it became a dumping ground.
