Halloween has always been my favorite holiday (tied with Easter). I love Halloween, there is just something so fun about it. I don’t go for the gory aspects, but I love all the fun parts. So today when I saw the Better Homes and Garden Halloween magazine I just had to pick it up! I have been planning Halloween projects since July, but I fell instantly in love with some of the projects in the magazine!
First of all, they have the cutest idea for carving your pumpkin with your favorite pooch! They offer free downloads of many breeds, but I imagine that if you were good on the computer you could even make a stencil based on a photo of your actual dog. Click here for their free pumpkin carving stencils.
They also used some white pumpkins in one of their ideas, which of course made me giddy (we are growing Lumina pumpkins this year). Another thing that they showed was replacing your flowers in containers with pumpkins. I have done this before and loved the look! They took it to the next level by making king and queen pumpkins. I have wanted to stack pumpkins in my pot from large to small to create the look of a topiary (one plan for this coming season), but do love the idea of using carved pumpkins. Loads of other great ideas on the Better Homes and Garden site too.
Anyway, if you love Halloween too, you will love the magazine! Also, be sure to come back here often as I share my Halloween obsession with you.

I have never carved a pumpkin and now that I read your blog, I feel like Im really missing out! It looks like it could be so much fun
I will definitely pick up one of these magazines and try my skills this year. Thanks!
