What is it about books that makes us want to collect them? Save them? Treasure them?
One thing that I have always wanted is a library. In our home right now, we don’t have space for a true library, complete with large table for really researching and of course, a ladder to reach all the way to the top shelf! I have envisioned making our over sized laundry room into a laundry/library. I even found this great corner shelving that would be perfect for the space (if only I had the money to buy it).
Right now our books are spread between floors, in two bookshelves. Clearing out books is a constant struggle, but something that I have to do often as new books come in. Luckily the local library is just down the road, and the books that won’t fit into our bookshelves make their way to the library. It’s good to know that if we ever did want to read a book again, we could check it out from the library.
What about your home? Do you have library space? What do you do when your book collection begins to take over?

I am a big book collector, always have been and always will be. I have a big collection of old paperbacks (the Classics) that I have stored in an antique bookcase in my bedroom. My other collection is newer things that are in my living room. Then there is the problem of my quiliting/arts&crafts books which are in my studio. I would love to have a library too; but my house doesn’t allow one now.
I like to collect books, but there’s no space in my apartment to really have a library… I would love to have one some day when I have a house. It is so convenient to have all of the books in one place, organized.. and just to have a separate room just for reading/researching.
